Trail Work Days

During the upcoming summer of 2009, we will once again organize and facilitate three Trail Work Days in partnership with the Teton Basin Ranger District of the Caribou-Targhee National Forest. These work days have been incredibly successful in the past, with between 25 and 80 people working together to maintain, reroute and reconstruct popular mountain biking, hiking, and multiple use trails on both sides of the Teton Valley. We'll be meeting with the Forest Service this spring to determine exactly which trails are selected for this summer, but it is likely that we will return to finish our reroute on the popular Red Creek Trail and do some upgrades to sections of trails in Horseshoe Canyon.

The 2009 Trail Work Days are: June 13, July 25 and August 15.

East Side of the Tetons Travel Plan

TVTAP will also have a voice in the process of creating a Travel Plan for the east side of the Tetons - the next travel planning process on the docket in the Teton Basin Ranger District. We will work with our membership to collect input from different user groups and map current and potential trails, and we'll work with the Forest Service to share this information and help to plan a system that meets the needs of our diverse community.
